Eng. W. N. Omari is a distinguished Civil Engineer with over 38 years of professional experience in the design, tender preparation, and construction supervision of diverse civil engineering projects.

Eng. P. O. Oyunga is a highly accomplished Civil and Structural Engineer with over 38 years of professional experience in the design, tender preparation, project administration, and construction supervision of a wide range of structural and civil engineering projects.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (1985) and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA (1993).

Eng. Oyunga began his engineering career in 1985 with the Ministry of Public Works, where he gained foundational experience in infrastructure development. He later joined Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners (Africa) in 1987, followed by Otieno Odongo and Partners in 1989, where he further honed his expertise in structural and civil engineering design.

In 1999, he founded Matrix Engineering Consultants, through which he has served as a Consultant and Lead Structural Engineering Expert. His work has encompassed a broad spectrum of activities, including feasibility studies, structural and bridge engineering design, tender preparation, and construction supervision of major building and road infrastructure projects. Between 2002 and 2003, Eng. Oyunga worked with the United Nations in Somalia, contributing his technical expertise to international development initiatives.

Eng. Evans Ochola

Eng. Ochola is an accomplished Consulting Engineer with over 15 years of extensive experience in transportation planning, policy formulation, feasibility studies, engineering design, contract administration, monitoring and evaluation, and project management.

He has successfully contributed to the delivery of numerous multi-disciplinary transport projects, covering all critical phases of the project cycle — from identification, preparation, and feasibility studies to procurement, implementation, monitoring, and closure.

Eng. Ochola possesses strong expertise in economic feasibility analysis, with proficiency in the use of software tools such as HDM-4, RED, and related applications. His professional experience spans consultancy assignments funded by major international development partners, including the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), French Development Agency (AFD), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Eng. (Dr.) Z. S. Oyier

Eng. (Dr.) Z. S. Oyier is a highly accomplished Civil Engineer with over 20 years of professional experience in highway and transportation engineering. He has been actively involved in the feasibility studies, planning, and design of major infrastructure projects across Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Cameroon.

Dr. Oyier holds a distinguished academic background, having earned a Ph.D. (2017) and an M.Sc. (2016) in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama, USA. He also obtained a Master of Arts in Applied Economics (2018) from the same institution. Prior to that, he earned both an M.Sc. (2009) and a B.Sc. (2005) in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

He began his professional career as a Transportation Engineer with Otieno Odongo and Partners, where he gained practical experience in infrastructure design and implementation. He later joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Somalia as a Civil Engineer, contributing to key infrastructure development projects funded by the UN.

Dr. Oyier’s international experience includes working in Bremen, Germany, where he collaborated with senior engineers on the design of heavy-duty pavement structures for shipyards and port facilities. In the United States, he gained expertise in road safety analysis, econometric modeling, traffic simulation, and transportation planning.

Since the establishment of the firm, Dr. Oyier has served as a Director, playing a pivotal role in the design, feasibility studies, and planning of numerous civil engineering projects, particularly in the roads and transportation sector.

Joseph Karanja

Joseph Karanja has twenty five (25) years experience in the area of hydrological, meteorological data collections, hydrological investigation, surveys, flood modeling, hydrological design and construction supervision of various water and civil engineering projects. He holds a B.Sc. Degree Geography and in Chemistry from Egerton University (1998), Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Hydrology and Water Information Systems for Management from the University of Nairobi (1999), Postgraduate in Integrated Water Resources Management from United Nation University & UoN (2009), Master in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi from University of Nairobi (2018). oseph started his engineering career with Sir. Alexander Gibb (K) in the year 2000, He got licensed by the Ministry of as a licensed Water Engineer (2004) and in 2008, he was registered and licensed as a Consulting Hydrologist. He has been intensively involved in the hydrological studies, investigation, design and and construction supervision of a wide variety of civil engineering projects, particularly in the roads and transportation sub-sector undertaken as a consulting hydrologist with various Engineering Firms in the Country and beyond. He has working experience in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zambia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Malawi. He is currently the main author of the on the review and updating of the Kenya Road Design Manual 2024 – Hydrology and Drainage component.

Paul Barasa has over ten (10) years experience in the design and construction supervision of various civil engineering projects. Paul joined Max & Partners Ltd in 2012 and has since been extensively involved in the preliminary and detailed engineering design of highways, civil and structural design of bulk petroleum and LPG depots, and retail outlets. Geospatial Engineer/Surveyor

Samuel Mwanza

Samuel Mwanza has more than 15 years of experience in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying and mapping, with extensive knowledge in carrying topographical survey using conventional surveying and laser Scanning survey techniques, in addition to related spatial data processing procedures. He holds a degree in B.Sc. Geospatial Engineering from the University of Nairobi (2009) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (2018). Samuel, began illustrious career in survey began back in 2009 where he was employed as a survey assistant with GEOMAPS Africa Limited. Since then, he gained a wealth of experince with a  sound background in a wide range fields like corridor mapping, engineering surveying, topographic survey ,terrain visualisation(DTM), densification of survey control networks and  Geo-modelling. He also has a proven expertise in use of conventional surveying equipment like geodetic RTK GPS/GNSS, total stations, aerial photogrammetry,3D terrestrial lidar visualisation and emerging technologies like drone surveying. He is well versed in survey processing software related to photogrammetry, point cloud data processing, 3D modelling, Geographic Information System (GIS), remote sensing and map production. He has intensive experience undertaking surveying assignments in many African countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda Tanzania, Rwanda, Guinea, Senegal, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana. These survey projects involved: tying established controls to primary control networks using Static GPS/GNSS Observation technique; Post processed of; carrying out detailed spatial data collection and cross sectioning RTK GNSS; detailed topographical survey of drainages, culvert invert level, utilities: extensively surveyed of streams, and road junction; generating topographical map and road cross- sections on AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D.

Ms. Dorcas W. Maina

Dorcas has over 15 years experience in the administration and management of office operations including resource and logistical planning.

She holds a B.Ed. degree from Kenyatta University (1990).

Dorcas started her working career as a TSC Teacher in 1990 and worked in various schools including Chania High School in Thika and Consolata Primary School in Westlands Nairobi

She retired from teaching practice in 1999 to join HAWA Artists as a Projects Coordinator before joining Max and Partners Ltd in 2005 as the firm’s Administrator and Manager.

She has excellent working knowledge of a variety human and financial resource management applications as well as MS Office applications.
