Eng. W. N. Omari has over thirty-eight (38) years experience in the area of design, tender preparation and construction supervision of various civil engineering projects. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (1985). Eng. Omari started his engineering career with the then Ministry of Public Works in 1985 and then went on to work with Sir. Alexander Gibb (K), Gath Consulting Engineers and later Mangat I. B. Patel and Partners Ltd before establishing Max and Partners Limited, Consulting Engineers in 2005. Since the establishment of the firm, he has been intensively involved in the design, tender preparation, contract administration and construction supervision of a wide variety of civil engineering projects, particularly in the roads and transportation sub-sector undertaken by the firm. He has working experience in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, DR Congo, Somalia, Somaliland and Ethiopia. He is an Accredited Checker with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), a Registered Consulting Engineer (Civil) with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda (ERB) and a Registered Engineer with the Rwanda Engineering Council (REC). He is also a Member of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Kenya (ACEK), a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (FICHT), a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
Eng. P. O. Oyunga has gathered more than thirty-eight (38) years of experience in the areas of design, tender preparation, project administration and construction supervision of various structural engineering projects. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (1985) and an M.Sc. from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA) (1993).
Eng. Oyunga started his engineering career with the then Ministry of Public Works in 1985 then went on to work with Sir. Alexander Gibb & Partners (Africa) in 1987 and later with Otieno Odongo and Partners in 1989.
He then established Matrix Engineering Consultants in 1999 under which he has worked as a Consultant and Lead Expert in Structural Engineering in building and road structures in activities ranging from feasibility studies, structural/bridge engineering design, tender preparation and construction supervision of numerous civil engineering projects in the construction sector. He worked for the United Nations (2002-2003) in Somalia.
Eng. Oyunga has working experience in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, South Sudan, Somalia, Somaliland, Puntland and Ethiopia. He is a Registered Consulting Engineer (Civil) with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
Eng. T. M. Githugu has over thirty-eight (38) years’ experience in the area of design, tender preparation and documentation and construction supervision of various civil engineering projects. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (1985). Eng. Githugu started his engineering career with the Aerodromes Department of the then Ministry of Public Works in 1985 and then went on to work with Chauhan Kiptoon & Partners Consulting Engineers, Abdul Mullick Associates Consulting Engineers, United Nations World Food Programme and Norken International Ltd Consulting Engineers. He has since then practised as an Independent Consulting Engineer from 2012. He has throughout his career been involved in the design, tender preparation and documentation, contract administration and construction supervision of a wide variety of civil engineering projects, primarily in the roads and transportation sub-sector, as well as having experience in preparation and evaluation of contractual claims. He has working experience in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Somaliland. He is a Registered Consulting Engineer (Civil) with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
Eng. Ochola is a consulting engineer with over fifteen (15) years extensive experience in transportation planning, policy formulation, feasibility studies, engineering design, contract administration, monitoring and evaluation, and project management. He has been involved in successfully delivering an array of multi-disciplinary transport projects covering all the critical project phases from identification, preparation, feasibility, procurement, implementation, and monitoring to closure. He has excellent working experience conducting Economic feasibility studies using software’s such as HDM-4 and RED amongst others. He has vast experience in consultancy assignments financed by international financing institutions such as the World Bank, the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the French Development Agency (AFD), the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). He has undergone a variety of road safety traing courses including (a) Training on the use of Non-motorised Transport Project Appraisal Tool (NMT-PAT), Centre for Transport Studies – University of Cape Town, UCT/UNEP Training Workshop, Nairobi-Kenya, December 2015; (b) Technical Webinar on Role of Road Safety Audits in Improving Traffic Safety, International Road Federation (IRF) and Qatar Transportation & Traffic Safety Centre (QTTSC), November 8-10, 2020 and (c) EBRD Road Safety Engineering E-learning Training Course – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, June 2021. He holds a BSc. Civil Engineering (First Class Honours), University of Nairobi, Kenya, 2011 and an MSc. Transport Planning & Engineering (With Distinction), University of Leeds, UK, 2020. He is a Registered Consulting Engineer with EBK and is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
Eng. (Dr.) Z. S. Oyier has over twenty (20) years of experience in highway and transportation engineering. He has participated in feasibility studies, planning and design of several infrastructure projects in Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Cameroon. Dr. Zephaniah has a rich educational background with a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Civil engineering from the University of Alabama (2017, 2016). In addition, he completed an MSc and B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (2009, 2005). Dr. Zephaniah also holds a Master of Arts degree in Applied Economics from the University of Alabama (2018). He started his career working as Transportation engineer for Otieno Odongo and Partners before joining the UNDP Somalia as a civil engineer working on infrastructure development projects funded by UNDP. Mr. Zephaniah has experience also worked in Bremen Germany where he worked with other experienced engineers in design of heavy-duty pavement structures for shipyards and ports. He has experience working in the USA in road safety, econometric modeling, traffic simulation and transportation planning and traffic engineering. Since the establishment of the firm, he has been intensively involved in the design, feasibility studies and planning of a wide variety of civil engineering projects, particularly in the roads and transportation subsector undertaken by the firm. Dr. Zephaniah has been a director at the firm since its inception. He is a Registered Engineer (Civil) with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
Joseph Karanja has twenty five (25) years experience in the area of hydrological, meteorological data collections, hydrological investigation, surveys, flood modeling, hydrological design and construction supervision of various water and civil engineering projects. He holds a B.Sc. Degree Geography and in Chemistry from Egerton University (1998), Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Hydrology and Water Information Systems for Management from the University of Nairobi (1999), Postgraduate in Integrated Water Resources Management from United Nation University & UoN (2009), Master in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi from University of Nairobi (2018). oseph started his engineering career with Sir. Alexander Gibb (K) in the year 2000, He got licensed by the Ministry of as a licensed Water Engineer (2004) and in 2008, he was registered and licensed as a Consulting Hydrologist. He has been intensively involved in the hydrological studies, investigation, design and and construction supervision of a wide variety of civil engineering projects, particularly in the roads and transportation sub-sector undertaken as a consulting hydrologist with various Engineering Firms in the Country and beyond. He has working experience in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zambia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Malawi. He is currently the main author of the on the review and updating of the Kenya Road Design Manual 2024 – Hydrology and Drainage component.
Allan Oyende has over fifteen (15) years experience in the design and construction supervision of various civil engineering projects. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (2005). Allan joined Max & Partners Ltd in 2007 and has since been extensively involved in the preliminary and detailed engineering design of highways, civil and structural design of bulk petroleum and LPG depots, and retail outlets. He has also carried out designs and construction supervision high-rise buildings and water retaining structures. He has excellent working knowledge of a wide variety of computer aided design programs (CAD) including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Max 3D, Prokon and Autocad Robot and Staad, among others. He has working experience in Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan. Paul Barasa has over ten (10) years experience in the design and construction supervision of various civil engineering projects. Paul joined Max & Partners Ltd in 2012 and has since been extensively involved in the preliminary and detailed engineering design of highways, civil and structural design of bulk petroleum and LPG depots, and retail outlets. He has also carried out designs and construction supervision high-rise buildings and water retaining structures. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (2011). He has excellent working knowledge of a wide variety of computer aided design programs (CAD) including AUTOCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3d, AutoCAD Max 3D, Prokon, Staad Pro for the design of Foundations and ArchiCAD, among others. He has working experience in Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan. Paul is a Registered Graduate Engineer (Civil) with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and Graduate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
Samuel Mwanza has more than 15 years of experience in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying and mapping, with extensive knowledge in carrying topographical survey using conventional surveying and laser Scanning survey techniques, in addition to related spatial data processing procedures. He holds a degree in B.Sc. Geospatial Engineering from the University of Nairobi (2009) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (2018). Samuel, began illustrious career in survey began back in 2009 where he was employed as a survey assistant with GEOMAPS Africa Limited. Since then, he gained a wealth of experince with a sound background in a wide range fields like corridor mapping, engineering surveying, topographic survey ,terrain visualisation(DTM), densification of survey control networks and Geo-modelling. He also has a proven expertise in use of conventional surveying equipment like geodetic RTK GPS/GNSS, total stations, aerial photogrammetry,3D terrestrial lidar visualisation and emerging technologies like drone surveying. He is well versed in survey processing software related to photogrammetry, point cloud data processing, 3D modelling, Geographic Information System (GIS), remote sensing and map production. He has intensive experience undertaking surveying assignments in many African countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda Tanzania, Rwanda, Guinea, Senegal, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana. These survey projects involved: tying established controls to primary control networks using Static GPS/GNSS Observation technique; Post processed of; carrying out detailed spatial data collection and cross sectioning RTK GNSS; detailed topographical survey of drainages, culvert invert level, utilities: extensively surveyed of streams, and road junction; generating topographical map and road cross- sections on AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D.
Anthony Wachira is an expert in environmental and social safeguards planning, implementation and supervision. He holds a bachelor’s degree on Environmental and Biosystems engineering from the University of Nairobi. He has 14 years’ experience in his working life, most of which is on undertaking environmental and social impacts assessments and developing environmental and social management systems for energy and water sector projects.
He is conversant with IFC and World Bank Environmental and Social Policy Framework and familiar with the EIA and public/stakeholder consultation requirements. Anthony has a wide understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Environment having practiced in the various fields he has worked in.
Anthony Wachira is registered by NEMA as a lead expert, Professional Trainers of Kenya (PTAK) and an associate member of environment institute of Kenya (EIK).
Dorcas has over 15 years experience in the administration and management of office operations including resource and logistical planning.
She holds a B.Ed. degree from Kenyatta University (1990).
Dorcas started her working career as a TSC Teacher in 1990 and worked in various schools including Chania High School in Thika and Consolata Primary School in Westlands Nairobi
She retired from teaching practice in 1999 to join HAWA Artists as a Projects Coordinator before joining Max and Partners Ltd in 2005 as the firm’s Administrator and Manager.
She has excellent working knowledge of a variety human and financial resource management applications as well as MS Office applications.
